Collect

Almighty God,
whose Son revealed in signs and miracles
the wonder of your saving presence:
renew your people with your heavenly grace,
and in all our weakness
sustain us by your mighty power;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.

All       Amen

First Reading

Revelation 19.6-10

6I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty thunder-peals, crying out,
‘Hallelujah!
For the Lord our God
the Almighty reigns.
7Let us rejoice and exult
and give him the glory,
for the marriage of the Lamb has come,
and his bride has made herself ready;
8to her it has been granted to be clothed
with fine linen, bright and pure’ –
for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints.

9And the angel said to me, ‘Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’ And he said to me, ‘These are true words of God.’ 10Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, ‘You must not do that! I am a fellow-servant with you and your comrades who hold the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.’

This is the Word of the Lord

All       Thanks be to God

Gospel

Alleluia, alleluia.
Christ was revealed in flesh, proclaimed among the nations
and believed in throughout the world.

Stewardship If you have already signed up to our Parish Giving Scheme (PGS), thank you.  If you would like to join this scheme, please contact our treasurer Charmaine Augustus (telephone 352914), who will be happy to provide you with the necessary form/information.  We now have so little take up on the boxed weekly stewardship envelopes that it is no longer viable for us to purchase them.  We hope therefore that those of you who currently give via this method will feel able to change to PGS,

Prayer list: The names of those who are ill or in need of prayer will remain on the prayer list for three weeks.  However, we realise that some people may need to be on for longer and, if this is the case, please speak with Carol Sharman who will be happy to arrange this.

Hymn

When we walk with the Lord

in the light of His word,

what a glory He sheds on our way!

while we do His good will,

He abides with us still,

and with all who will trust and obey.

Trust and obey,

For there’s no other way

to be happy in Jesus,

but to trust and obey.

Not a burden we bear,

not a sorrow we share,

but our toil He doth richly repay,

not a grief nor a loss,

not a frown nor a cross,

but is blest if we trust and obey.

Refrain

Then in fellowship sweet

we will sit at His feet,

Or we’ll walk by His side in the way.

What He says He will do,

where He sends we will go,

never fear, only trust and obey.

Refrain
