Each week we pray for a different street: this week is Southfield Drove
We remember those who are ill or need our prayers at this time, especially: Anne-Marie Miller, Maggie Camps, Alex, Barbara Hunter, Kerry, David Rockley
We pray for the souls of those who have died: This week pray especially for Sandra Bennett, who has been a valued member of our church for many years. She has worked with the young people in our school, has been in our choir and a dear friend to many of us. She will be sadly missed and we offer David and Adam our sincere sympathy. God rest her soul.
We remember those whose anniversaries of death are at this time:
Sheila Cosby, Ron Gazeley, Trevor Peck, Paul Smith

Almighty God, who through your only-begotten Son Jesus Christ have overcome death and opened to us the gate of everlasting life: grant that, as by your grace going before us you put into our minds good desires, so by your continual help we may bring them to good effect; through Jesus Christ our risen Lord.
All Amen
First Reading
Revelation 21.1-6
1I, John, saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘See, the home of God is among mortals. He will dwell with them; they will be his peoples, and God himself will be with them; 4he will wipe every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; mourning and crying and pain will be no more, for the first things have passed away.’ 5And the one who was seated on the throne said, ‘See, I am making all things new.’ Also he said, ‘Write this, for these words are trustworthy and true.’ 6Then he said to me, ‘It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give water as a gift from the spring of the water of life.’
This is the word of the Lord.
All Thanks be to God
Gospel Reading
Alleluia, alleluia. I am the first and the last, says the Lord, and the living one; I was dead, and behold I am alive for evermore.
All Alleluia.
Hear the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according to N.
All Glory to you, O Lord.
John 13.31-35
31During the supper, when Judas had gone out, Jesus said, ‘Now the Son of Man has been glorified, and God has been glorified in him. 32If God has been glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself and will glorify him at once. 33Little children, I am with you only a little longer. You will look for me; and as I said to the Jews so now I say to you, “Where I am going, you cannot come.” 34I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. 35By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.’
This is the Gospel of the Lord.
All Praise to you, O Christ
Prayer after Communion
Eternal God, whose Son Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life: grant us to walk in his way, to rejoice in his truth, and to share his risen life; who is alive and reigns, now and for ever.
All Amen

Well Being Café All those who have attended have enjoyed the coffee, tea, homemade cake and soup, and chatting. It aims to be a friendly inclusive space where people can meet people or be quiet after the morning service, so please do come along and invite others. All are welcome. We will add to what we do over time and any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Christian Aid week runs from 15th – 21st May 2022 For the first time in a generation, global hunger and poverty are rising. Covid-19, conflict, and the climate crisis are pushing vulnerable communities into a struggle for survival. Your gifts could help buy water taps for a community garden, even help build storerooms to store and preserve precious food. Your prayers will provide strength and hope. Every gift. Every action. Every prayer. Every one of us can change lives. Once again this year we have set up a St Mary’s Burton Latimer Christian Aid e-envelope. This makes donating extremely straightforward. The link below will display the e-envelope and enable you to add and submit your donation. Alternatively you can use this QR code to access the e-envelope. https://envelope.christianaid.org.uk/envelope/st-marys-burton-latimer
Bible Study: Completing our study of the Old Testament text of Handel’s Messiah, there will be three sessions on Wednesday afternoons, 3.00 – 4.00pm, 1st, 15th and 29th June, at 9 Pebbleford Road, Kettering NN15 6QE. Even if you didn’t do the first three, do join us for these; you will be very welcome. Ann Burridge
Plant Appeal: In order to help raise much needed funds, we shall be having a plant stall on Jubilee Sunday, 5th June, after a short Family Service. If anyone has any spare plants that they would like to donate, this would be very much appreciated. Thank you very much. Val
